Celine Dion and her late husband René Angélil first met when she auditions for him at the early age of 12 years old. Her audition had him crying and from there he knows she was a star; he took a mortgage out on his home to fund her first album. With him as her manager, he helped Dion made her debut in the English-speaking market with the album Unison.
The two got married in Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica on December 17, 1994, four years later the news that no one wanted to hear Rene Angelil was diagnosis with throat cancer. Celine had to step away from the stage to be the wife that she is to take care of her husband. In the year of 2000 the couple renew their wedding vows when Rene was declared cancer free.
Rene Angelil and Celine Dion share their home with the three handsome sons Rene Charles, and the twins Nelson and Eddy. In 2002 Celine Dion sign on to residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. But in 2014 after a great performance she received the news the Rene Angelil cancer has returned. She made another hard decision to step away from her residency to give a full attention to Rene, he then step aside from being her longtime manager.
She returned to the Caesars Palace in August 2015, then four months later Jan 14, 2016 her beloved husband, best friend, and her husband passed away. She shared with People that she just came in from doing her show he was asleep in bed and she did not want to disturbed him and she when to bed. The next morning his nurse fought him death. She also told People “she did not want to live with regards, she meant well by not waking him”.

Mr. Angélil was honored with a funeral at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica in January where the couple got married on 1994. Rene Angelil planned out his funeral so his wife will not have the stress of that. He even picked out the song that he wanted to play which was one of Celine Dion song (All the Way).
On May 22, 2016 at the Billboard Music Award she hit the stage to give a heart break performance and to honor her late husband and also receive the Icon award which was presented to her by the couple eldest child Rene Charles.
