Fashion Meets Charity Hosted by Angela Simmons

Charity in style I had a pleasure of attending, “Angela I Am Weekend,” a great event that was hosted by the one and only Angela Simmons. The number one lifestyle group in Miami, FL Sobe Lifestyle group that supports Over Town Youth gave this event. The Over Town Youth center mission is to provide the students with opportunities to participate in a variety of exposure trips, academic camps, dance,music,spoken word, art and many more.

The event was held at the beautiful location Sparkle and Shine Darling located in Miami, FL owned by Adrienne Bosh the wife of Chris Bosh. The event highlights different designers from California, New York, Atlanta, and local Miami designers. The designers displayed their work in every angle of the building. A few designers caught my eye, which started from dresses, stylish neck pieces, natural hair African American dolls, and so many more. Mrs. Simmons went to each designer and took time out and spoke with each designer about the pieces just to see the expression on every one face as she approaches each one of them personal.

The Lamaj Company LLC a local designer out of Miami, FL was in the building. Lamaj displayed a beautiful black and gold dress with a shear top with a long elegant fish tail. The material of the dress was to die for, as the beautiful model stood in this beautiful piece she stated that the dress fitted nicely and was able to move without a problem. Her hair was pulled up into a high bun; make-up was clean with gorgeous red lips. This dress can be used to attend a Gala affair or in a wedding party with such elegance. Lamaj Company LLC delivered a beautiful top of the line dress.

Designer Monee Pastel is a humble young lady out of Columbus, OH. She currently resides in Atlanta GA. Ms. Pastel is an amazing self-taught designer and developed her own clothing line in 2010. She started with a costume wear and then went into formal wear designing for men, women, and children in 2014. Mrs. Pastel displayed a nude mesh grown, which had sown beaded lace appliqués with a long train that flowed beautifully behind the dress. Designer Monee Pastel spirit was humble and professional.

To walk and glance at all of the talented young designers and to hear their stories just shows me, skies the limit for each one of them and hard work does pay off. I spoke with a few of the designers in the room to hear the passion for their creation it just gave me a warm feeling in my heart that once you set life goals they can be achieved just by believing, trusting, and executing your goals. We will like to congratulate each one of them on their success and achievements. We wish you all nothing but the best.

I believed Ms. Simmons gave each designer hope and to never give up on their dreams, because you will never know what path your road of dreams can take you. Keep pushing for success. The environment was full of positivity, knowledge, and excitement. The skills that showed on all of the talented designers were in the room.

The staff for the public relations company that is owned by Kiedra Tyson was exceedingly professional. The staff was helpful to everyone that needed something at any given time and made you feel at home.
